This cast bronze statue shows the Friday Buddha standing with his arms crossed over his chest, the right hand covering the left. It is listed at 10 inches tall, and the photos show a warm gold-bronze finish on a small lotus base, shown beside pink water lilies.
Thai Buddhists assign a Buddha image to each day of the week, and the standing crossed-arm pose is the one associated with Friday. People who were born on a Friday often keep this image on a home altar, and it makes a fitting gift for them. The pose is read as quiet reflection.
One of Naree's picks, and a good companion to the Monday and Thursday statues on Uniquely Thai Lao TV.
