Resin Buddha, Green and Light Blue, 11 Inches

This resin Buddha statue stands 11 inches tall and is finished in green and light blue. Its colors echo the Emerald Buddha, one of the most revered Buddha images in Thailand, enshrined at Wat Phra Kaew in Bangkok. It is handcrafted by Thanakrit Kanyaprasit.

The story of the Emerald Buddha is told in several old chronicles, including the Jinakalamali and the Ratanabimbavamsa, the Chronicle of the Emerald Buddha written in Pali in the 15th century. The legend mixes history and fable and follows the image across many kingdoms before it reached Bangkok. At 11 inches tall, this statue fits a shelf, desk or small home altar, making it a calm focal point for a meditation corner.

Care: dust with a soft dry cloth or brush, and keep it indoors away from strong direct sun to keep the colors bright.
