Buddha Face on Black and Gold Leaf with Stand, 14.5 x 24 Inches

This leaf-shaped plaque is carved from wood and mounted on a dark wooden stand. It is 14.5 inches wide and 24 inches tall. The leaf is black with flecks of gold, and its veins are raised. The Buddha face at the center has closed eyes, a cap of small curls and a small flame at the crown.

The bodhi leaf is a favorite shape in Thai and Lao Buddhist art, and a large piece like this makes a bold shelf or table display. Set it where the gold flecks catch the light, dust it with a soft cloth, and keep water off the gold finish so it does not wear away.

Naree picked it for Uniquely Thai Lao TV.
