Carved Wooden Black Cat with Yellow Dots and Red Face, 10 Inches Tall

This wooden cat stands 10 inches tall and is painted glossy black with a scatter of yellow dots across its body. The face is picked out in red around the eyes and nose, and the front paws are held together at the chest. It is carved from wood and painted by hand, so the dots fall a little differently on every cat.

Carved and painted animals like this are a staple of village workshops and craft markets in Thailand and Laos, where cats are common household companions. It is a cheerful accent for a shelf, desk or windowsill. Dust it with a dry cloth and keep it out of damp spots so the paint stays bright.

Naree chose it for Uniquely Thai Lao TV.
