Black Lek Lai Ganesh (Phra Phikanet) Statue, 14 Inches

This black Ganesh statue stands 14 inches tall and is handcrafted in Lek Lai by Thanakrit Kanyaprasit. Ganesh, known in Thailand as Phra Phikanet, is honored as the remover of obstacles and the patron of arts, learning and new beginnings, and his image is found in shrines, schools and businesses across the country.

Lek Lai is a material long associated with Thai folklore and amulet traditions. The deep black finish shows the details of the figure clearly and gives the statue a strong, calm presence on a home altar, shelf or desk. At 14 inches tall it is large enough to be a focal point while still fitting a standard shelf.

Care: place it on a stable surface, dust with a soft dry cloth, and avoid water or chemical cleaners.
