Cast Bronze Buddha Statue Monday 14" Tall

This polished cast bronze Buddha statue stands 14 inches tall and shows the Buddha in the Monday posture, standing with one hand raised. In Thai this pose is often called Pacifying the Relatives or Preventing Calamities, and it represents calm and the peaceful resolution of conflict. It is handcrafted by Thanakrit Kanyaprasit.

In Thai and Lao custom, each day of the week has its own Buddha posture, and people often keep the image for the day they were born. The statue is made by the lost-wax method: a detailed wax model is encased in a mold, the wax is melted out and molten bronze is poured into the hollow. This captures fine details in the robes and face, finished with a polished golden glow.

At 14 inches tall it suits a home altar, shelf or meditation space. Dust gently with a soft dry cloth and do not scour the finish.
