Cast Bronze Wednesday Buddha Statue, 13 Inches Tall

This standing Wednesday Buddha is cast in bronze by the lost wax method in Thailand and stands 13 inches tall. The photos show a gold-bronze finish, a tall pointed crown, both hands holding an alms bowl in front of the body, and a small lotus pedestal. The listing says it was exported with permission from the Thai government.

Thai Buddhists link each day of the week to its own Buddha pose, and the alms bowl image belongs to Wednesday. Monks walk out each morning to receive food, which gives lay people a chance to make merit by giving. Someone born on a Wednesday might choose this image for a home altar.
