Thephanom are devata shown in the añjali gesture. In Thai temple art, they honor the Buddha and mark a sacred or welcoming space. Folklore treats them as guardians. That is custom, not a security system.
Listed as cast bronze. Finish is gold-tone over dark metal/paint. Dust with a soft cloth; do not strip the finish.
