Brown and Cream Checked Cotton Placemat, 14 x 18 Inches

This handcrafted placemat is woven from cotton in a checked pattern of cream with light brown lines, and it measures 14 by 18 inches. The weave is fairly loose and soft, with a slight texture you can see in the photo, so it lies flat under a plate, a bowl and a set of chopsticks or cutlery.

The listing gives Indonesia as its origin. Woven cotton table linens are also part of daily life in Thai and Lao homes, where meals are often shared from many small dishes set out together. A set of these mats gives a relaxed, natural look to a breakfast table or a patio. Shake off crumbs after use and wash gently by hand in cool water.
