A low brown wicker bowl about 10 inches across and 6 inches high, finished with seashells on the rim or body. It is Indonesian work (PL-series)—island weave, not a Thai market tote and not Lao temple basketry.

Coastal makers in Indonesia mix rattan or wicker with shell because both sit in the same market: fish, dry goods, and house display. Use it for napkins, mail, jewelry, or a dry centerpiece. Plastic “coastal” bins are identical. Wicker shows reed and the odd shell that will not match the next basket.

Keep dry. Wipe dust. Shells loosen if soaked.
