Gold-Leaf Carved Wood Buddha Head Wall Hanging, 8 Inches Tall

This Buddha head is made of solid wood and finished in gold leaf. It stands 8 inches tall and is ready for hanging on the wall. The face has long, lowered eyes, a small mark on the forehead set with a tiny jewel, a rounded topknot of curls and long, flat earlobes, all brought out by the gold.

Gold leaf is used throughout Thailand and Laos to decorate temple walls, statues and carved wood. A small head like this suits an entry wall, a bookshelf or a quiet corner of a room. Dust it with a soft brush and avoid touching the gold with damp hands, since leaf is delicate and can rub off.
