6" Cast Bronze Sheep – Indonesian Lost-Wax Figurine

A compact flock animal in real bronze: about 6 inches tall and 9 inches long. This sheep is cast in Indonesia (PL-series), not a Thai or Lao temple image. It sits low and wide—woolly body, short legs, head set for a tabletop or windowsill rather than a garden pedestal.

Indonesian metalworkers have long used lost-wax for small animals and ritual objects. A wax sheep is modeled, wrapped in clay, fired so the wax runs out, then filled with molten bronze. The shell is broken away, and the surface is cleaned and darkened. That is why the fleece ridges and face stay sharp, and why the piece has weight resin “bronze-look” farm animals do not.

Place and care

Set it on a bookcase, sideboard, or desk. Pair with other small metal animals if you like a farm grouping. Dust with a dry cloth. The color is the bronze itself—not a gold-colored paint—so it will mellow rather than flake.
