Dragon Sculpture Twisted on a Log, 46 Inches

A blue and gold dragon winds its body around a natural log in this sculpture, which is listed at 46 inches long. The listing says it is made from reclaimed sawdust and resin and mounted on a log or branch, so the log differs from piece to piece. Fine scales, a head with open jaws and a curling tail run down its length.

Dragons in Thai and Lao folklore are close cousins of the naga, the serpent that appears beside the Buddha in temple murals and statues, and carved serpents line the stair rails of many temples.
