Carved Wood Giraffe Head and Neck, Polished, 20 Inches Tall

This giraffe stands 20 inches tall and is carved from wood, with the head, ears and horns on a long, gently curved neck that rises from a solid base. The finish is polished, in a warm reddish-brown with the grain showing through, as the photo shows. The listing says it comes from Indonesia and that the wood is sustainably sourced.

Carved animals of this kind are made in Bali and across Southeast Asia, and the grain pattern makes each one slightly different. At this height it fits a corner, a floor shelf or a console table. Dust it with a soft cloth and use a little wood wax occasionally to keep the polish.
