Green Buddha Face on Leaf Plaque with Wooden Stand, 9.5 x 15 Inches

This leaf-shaped plaque is carved with a Buddha face and mounted on a wooden stand. It measures 9.5 inches wide and 15 inches tall. The leaf has a weathered green-gray finish, the face has a warm copper tone, and a ring of small curls and a pointed topknot crown the head. The carved veins of the leaf run outward from the face.

The bodhi leaf is a favorite motif in Thai and Lao Buddhist art, because the Buddha is said to have sat beneath a bodhi tree. A plaque on a stand like this works on a shelf, a console or a desk. Dust it with a soft brush and keep it out of damp and strong direct sun.
