A green yaksha stands on its podium, teeth showing, eyes wide, one arm set in a guard pose. In Thai, the figure is a yak (ยักษ์). Temple gates have used them since the Ayutthaya years to face the street, turn harm aside, and still welcome a visitor who comes in peace. The same idea sits at shop doors and, in Bangkok, in the departure hall at Suvarnabhumi.

This one is listed as Yak Tao Tap Suone. The yak in Thai storytelling comes from the Ramakien, the local telling of the Rama story, where the giants serve as gatekeepers rather than household gods. The large teeth and hard stare are the point. The custom treats them as protectors, not as a curse on the house.

Size and finish

  • Height: 98 inches, podium included
  • Color: green
  • Use: entry, garden, or shop front

The listing does not name the material. Measure the gate, the stairs, and the pad it will stand on. At just over 8 feet with the base, it needs a freight quote or local pickup in Oxnard.

Care

Dust or rinse grit off with plain water and let it dry. The green is a finish. Skip harsh scrubbers if you want that color to stay even. If it sits in the weather, give it a firm, level base so the podium does not rock.
