Wood-Framed Hand-Carved Teak Carving of Running Horses

This wide wall carving shows a herd of horses running at full gallop, with manes streaming and rock and grass carved beneath their hooves. The scene is skillfully carved from a solid teak plank and sits in a simple wooden frame. It is a landscape format, roughly a foot tall and about two feet wide.

Teak carving is a strong craft tradition in northern Thailand, where artisans work from solid planks and finish them with a warm golden tone. Each piece is unique, so the grain and the carving will vary a little from the photo. Hang it with secure hardware, dust it with a soft brush and keep it out of damp.
