The figure commonly referred to as the cigar store Indian, alternatively known as the wooden Indian, is a three-dimensional wooden sculpture representing a Native American. Originally, these figures were utilized as advertisement displays for tobacconists. While they still serve this purpose on occasion, they are more commonly appreciated as decorative pieces or collectibles. Some of these sculptures have been known to fetch prices as high as $5,000.
