Isan Doll, Northeastern Dress, 12 Inches

One cloth doll, listed at 12 inches. She stands on a small wooden base. The face is painted. A woven cap covers her hair, banded in black, white, and bright threads. Large hoop earrings and several strands of silver-colored beads hang at the neck. The top is dark, with a red cuff. A yellow plaid cloth crosses one shoulder. The hem of the lower garment has a narrow woven border. Her feet are bare on the base.

She holds woven baskets: a flat one and a small cone on one side, and a round open basket in the other hand. The metal plate on the base says northeastern dress and made in Thailand. Northeastern Thailand is Isan. The plate does not say Karen or Yang, and it does not say whether the 12 inches includes the base. The beads and hoops are not marked 925.
