Hand-Carved Asian Hardwood Statue of a Lady Holding Her Toe, 11 Inches Tall

This hand-carved statue shows a lady standing on one leg and reaching down to hold her toe, in a graceful, balanced pose. The wood is Asian hardwood, carved with skillful detail and polished to a dark, glossy finish. The figure rises from a small round base and stands 11 inches tall.

Figures with a sense of movement are a popular subject for carvers in Thailand, and a polished dark wood shows off the curves of the shoulders and the hair. It suits a shelf, a console or a bedroom dresser. Dust it with a soft cloth, keep it away from damp and avoid direct sun so the polish stays even.
