The figure of Lady Hush holds a finger up to her lips, the universal sign for silence. She is carved from wood in a warm honey-brown finish, stands 12 inches tall overall, and has a long face with carved lines across the forehead. The photos show her from the front, at an angle and close up.
Carved wood faces and figures are a staple of Southeast Asian craft markets. A piece like this makes a witty accent for a library, an office or a bedroom shelf, and a gift for someone who likes quiet. Each carving varies a little in grain and tone.
