Lao Skirt (Sinh) — Skirt Only

This Lao skirt (sinh) is sold as the skirt only; the photos show it styled with a blouse and belt, which are not included. It is a Lao-style wrap in magenta and pink silk-look fabric with a patterned hem band, and it was handwoven in Laos.

The sinh is the traditional Tai-Lao tube or wrap skirt, made up of a waistband, body and decorated hem. It is everyday wear in much of Laos and is often worn for ceremonies, temple visits and festivals in Thailand. One size fits most: wrap it at the waist and tie or tuck to secure. Pair it with a lace or silk blouse for a complete outfit.

Care: hand wash cold, or use a gentle cycle inside a laundry bag. Hang to dry and do not wring.
