Wooden Letter Opener with Crescent Moon Handle, 7 Inches

This letter opener is 7 inches long and made of dark polished wood. The handle ends in a carved crescent moon with a small face, and the shaft tapers to a rounded point for slitting the edge of an envelope. The photos show the whole piece and a close view of the head.

A wooden opener is a small piece of craftsmanship for a desk, and the carved moon face makes it a conversation piece. It is meant for paper only. Wood carving is a family trade in many Thai and Indonesian villages, and the grain and color will vary from one opener to another.

Naree includes it in her picks on Uniquely Thai Lao TV as a small gift.
