Teak Folding Side Table (Kura), 20 x 20 x 20 Inches

A small teakwood side table in the kura style, 20 x 20 x 20 inches. The top is made of solid teak planks inside a raised rim with shaped, scalloped edges, and it rests on crossed legs.

The table folds: remove the bolts and the legs fold flat, which makes it easy to store or carry to a patio, a picnic or a temple event. With the bolts in place it stands firm as a side table, plant stand or small serving table.

Teak is valued in Thailand for furniture used outdoors because the natural oils in the wood help it handle sun and rain. The finish here shows the warm orange-brown grain.

Care: wipe with a damp cloth and dry. For outdoor use, an occasional coat of teak oil keeps the color even; left untreated, teak weathers to a silver gray.
