Unakite Chip Necklace, 16 Inches

This 16 inch necklace is strung from polished chips of unakite, a stone with a mottled pattern of green and pink. The photo shows the strands twisted loosely together and resting on a black display bust, with the chips in a mix of sage, mint and rose tones.

Because the chips are irregular, each strand is a little different in color and shape. Jewelry made from natural stone chips is a common sight in the gem markets of Thailand, where beads are strung by the strand and sold by weight. The 16 inch length sits just below the collarbone.
