Wood Fish-Shaped Drink Coaster, Sold Individually

This drink coaster is made from solid Asian hardwood in the shape of a fish, with fins, a tail and a small dark eye. The top has a shallow, smooth recess that holds a large glass, and the warm orange-brown grain of the wood shows through the finish. It is sold individually, so you can pick up one or build a set.

Animal shapes are a common theme in Thai wood craft, from small carved bears and dolphins to larger figures, and a fish suits a table near water or a kitchen shelf. Each piece is cut from natural wood, so the grain varies a little from coaster to coaster.
