This handcrafted Thai wooden croaking frog is 5 inches long and is a traditional rasp guiro percussion instrument. Rub the included wooden stick along the ridged back and the frog makes a croaking sound like a real frog's call. It is carved from solid wood in Thailand by Thanakrit Kanyaprasit and comes in a brown or natural finish.
Croaking frogs are a much-loved Southeast Asian folk instrument. Children enjoy playing them, music teachers use them in classrooms, and musicians add them to percussion sections. The 5 inch size is easy to hold, and the polished wood looks charming on a shelf or desk when it is not being played.
Care: keep it dry and dust with a soft cloth. Each frog is carved by hand, so grain and color vary.
