A hanging chime about 28 inches long with a yin-yang disk in the design. The split of light and dark is the Chinese mark for complementary opposites—not a Thai or Lao temple emblem. The tubes and striker do the usual work: air moves, metal or tube speaks.

Hang it where weather can reach it, but a wall or eave breaks the hardest gusts—porch hook, pergola, or a stout branch. Cheap printed “zen” chimes often use a sticker disk and thin rods that tangle. A 28-inch drop needs a clear swing so the clapper can hit cleanly.

Lift the line off the hook to store in a storm. Wipe dust from the disk. Expect outdoor color to mellow.
